MARINELAND POLAR SPLASH

Marineland Niagara engaged STUDIO tla to design a highly interactive children’s water play environment to celebrate Canada’s arctic marine habitats.  Covering 1.75 acres the active play zone uses life-sized versions of marine mammals arranged in habitat-specific areas.  Mammals include polar bears, narwhals, beluga whales and various seal species.  The Arctic Ocean floor is recreated in the seal rookery with sea anemones and interactive starfish, while ice floes and glaciers have been recreated using coloured and textured concrete.  Educational signage was developed by STUDIO tla to explain the various animal species found in the play zone.
